DESCRIPTION
This course provides an overview of policies and procedures related to medication management for elderly residents living in a residential care environment. By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Define the differences between medication assistance and medication administration
- Identify relevant laws and regulations pertaining to medication management for the elderly
- Describe general principles and staff responsibilities related to resident self-administration of medication
- Understand basic definitions, acronyms, and terminology related to medication management.
This course is intended to contribute to caregiver and/or staff training in the categories of Medication Management, Medication Policies, and Procedures and Best Practices. Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
