DESCRIPTION
This is a comprehensive course on ostomy care and related disease processes. Learners will achieve the following objectives:
- Describe the procedure and resultant anatomy for major types of ostomy surgery.
- Identify at least two professional certificates that specialize in ostomy care.
- Identify pre-operative and post-operative ostomy considerations.
- Describe patient teaching and discharge planning components necessary to facilitate successful transition from the hospital.
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.5 CE/Contact Hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20250324-1.50-A100100-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
