This course provides an overview of advance care planning. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: identify and describe the potential barriers for people in planning for their future in both matters of personal assets and healthcare decision making; identify communication techniques to help facilitate future care planning discussions with patients and their family members, and define the purpose and process for executing advance directives and identify the resources and tools available to assist patients in facilitating this process. Course is approved for 1.0 CEUs/contact hours for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in California. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2023.
