Description
This is a basic course in pain management designed to benefit non-medical caregivers who will be or are assisting residents with medications. By the end of this course, you will be able to: define pain and distinguish the differences between acute and chronic pain; recognize common signs and symptoms of pain in older adults; discuss the various types of drugs used for chronic pain management and problems associated with pain medications in older adults; and review guidelines and best practices for safe assistance of pain medications for older adults. Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
