Description
Course objectives include: 1) Distinguish between emergencies that impact the resident or client and those that affect the facility as a whole, 2) List common emergencies impacting older adults, 3) Describe when and how 9-1-1 should be called, 4) Identify safety measures the facility can have in place to prevent accidents and emergencies, and 5) Identify ways in which the facility can prepare for an emergency. Approved for 1.0 CEU/contact hr for Nurses (all states) and California Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrators. Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2023.
