This course provides an advanced overview of Skin Infections in the Long Term Care Setting. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: explain the unique factors that lead to the prevalence of skin infections in long term care facility clients; describe the normal anatomy of the skin; identify conditions that are common in long term care clients that predispose them to skin infections; identify signs and symptoms of the most common skin infections in long term care facility clients; explain the consequences of skin infections for long term care facility clients, healthcare workers, and the general population; and identify resources and tools to help prevent the spread of skin infections in long term care facilities.

Course is approved for 4.5 CE/Contact Hours to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in Florida.

Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
