Description
This course provides an overview of wandering and safety for persons with dementia. By the end of this course learners will be able to: define wandering as it relates to persons with dementia; explain why wandering occurs; describe risk factors associated with wandering; identify best practices for responding to a wandering incident; identify other safety risks for persons with dementia; and identify safety measures that can be implemented to mitigate common safety risks. This course is intended to contribute to caregiver and/or staff training in the categories of Dementia Care. Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
