DESCRIPTION
This course provides an overview of behaviors associated with dementia, with a focus on those associated with Alzheimer’s type dementia. Course objectives include:
- Determine common causes of behaviors in persons with dementia.
- Describe most prevalent behaviors associated with persons with dementia.
- Identify theories of behavior management; define person-centered care as it relates to caring for persons with dementia.
- Identify approaches to use when assisting a person with dementia during a challenging behavior episode.
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.25 CE/Contact Hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20250324-1.25-A100243-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
