DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this course is to increase the awareness of healthcare professionals regarding medical errors. Learners will achieve the following objectives:
- Describe the current societal and professional perspectives on medical errors
- Review the definition of medical error and the potential types of medical errors that can occur
- Discuss the consequences of medical errors on patients, professionals, and society
- Apply error-reduction techniques to current practice.
Medical Errors is a required continuing education topic for nurses in the state of Florida.
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20260324-2-A110834-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
