By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Define autonomy.
  • Explain why resident autonomy is important in an RCFE.
  • Describe the role of Resident Rights in promoting resident autonomy and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations related to safety.
  • Identify ways to provide an autonomous environment for residents while adhering to laws and regulations related to safety.
  • Describe how Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and the relationship of each to quality of life in an RCFE.

This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for:

  • California RCFE Administrators
  • California Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (CA BRN)

Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
