DESCRIPTION

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  • Define Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
  • Differentiate between SIDS and Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)
  • Identify the incidence of SIDS
  • List the preventative measures against SIDS
  • Identify one organization completing research on SIDS and the types of research being conducted
  • Discuss points of safe sleep and SIDS prevention education for parents and caregivers

This course is approved for 3.5 CE/Contact Hours to the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
  • Certified Case Managers (CCM)
  • Social Workers (NASW)

Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
