DESCRIPTION
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Define implicit bias and the differences between implicit and explicit bias.
- Distinguish the difference between System 1 and System 2 thinking.
- Evaluate the origin of implicit bias, historically and within oneself.
- Analyze stereotypes and stigmas, and implicit biases in healthcare.
- Discuss some measurement tools in evaluating implicit biases in healthcare.
This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours to the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- Social Workers (NASW)
Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
