DESCRIPTION
This course fulfills the Florida Board of Nursing requirement for two (2) CE/Contact Hours on the laws and rules that govern the practice of nursing in Florida. This course fulfills the Florida Board of Nursing requirement for two (2) CE/Contact Hours (hours of continuing education) on the laws and rules that govern the practice of nursing in Florida. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the legislative purpose of the Nurse Practice Act and at least two functions of the Florida State Board of Nursing
- Identify licensure and continuing education requirements for Florida nurses
- List at least three reasons that disciplinary action may be imposed against a Florida nurse
- Identify the differences in nursing practice between advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants
- Describe the parameters of delegation by Florida nurses.
Course is approved for 2 CE/Contact Hours for the following professionals:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
