DESCRIPTION
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the basic understanding diabetes and factors affecting management of diabetes in older adults.
- Identify the main goals of diabetic medication management.
- Describe the various methods of insulin administration, different types of insulin, and the rationale behind sliding scale prescription.
- Identify at least two types of oral medication for management of diabetes.
- Recognize the limitations and restrictions in caring for persons with diabetes living in a licensed assisted living or other residential care facility.

- California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
