DESCRIPTION

This course provides an overview of policies and procedures related to medication management for elderly residents living in a residential care environment. By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Define the differences between medication assistance and medication administration
  • Identify relevant laws and regulations pertaining to medication management for the elderly
  • Describe general principles and staff responsibilities related to resident self-administration of medication
  • Understand basic definitions, acronyms, and terminology related to medication management.

Course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in California. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
