DESCRIPTION
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Define behavioral health in the context of workers’ compensation.
- Identify behavioral health issues encountered in workers’ compensation and how they can serve as a barrier to recovery and return-to-work.
- Provide tools for assessing/identifying behavioral health risk factors and overcoming barriers to promote maximum biopsychosocial health and improvement.
- Differentiate between psychosocial impacts on case outcomes and psychosocial impacts on case managers themselves.
- Identify resources for support and methods for coping with compassion fatigue and establishing professional boundaries.
This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours to the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- Social Workers (NASW)
- CA Workers’ Comp Claims Adjusters
Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
