DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Define chronic pain and traditional pharmacological and interventional modalities for chronic pain management.
- Recognize the use of opioids in chronic pain management and contributing factors relating to opioid use disorder.
- Discuss the properties and evidence-based linkage in medical cannabis for pain management.
- Discuss the benefits, side effects, risks, and the individuals responsibilities in using medical cannabis.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Advanced Practice RN (APRN): This course includes 1.5 pharmacotherapeutic contact hours
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- Social Workers (NASW)
- CA Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
Course Details
To receive 2.0 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
