DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this course is to familiarize Assisted Living Administrators and Nursing Home Administrators with the effects of stress on the brain and body and to provide tools for the prevention of caregiver burnout. By the end of the course, learners will be able to: 

  • Define the general concept of stress.
  • Describe three effects of chronic stress on the brain.
  • Describe three effects of chronic stress on the body systems.
  • Explain three potential strategies that may be used for self-care and with patients/residents in order to decrease the negative effects of chronic stress.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.25 CE/Contact Hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20250324-1.25-A100125-DL. This course applies to the following professions:

  • Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
  • Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)

Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
