DESCRIPTION
By the end of this course, Administrators will know how to:
- Define mobility and why safe transportation is important for aging adults.
- Recognize relevant laws and regulations in transportation and long-term care communities.
- Identify essential transportation safety, accessibility, and reliability practices, and appropriate types of vehicles.
- Apply appropriate outing assessment and safety skills in transferring individuals into vehicles.
- Describe the unique transportation safety consideration for older adults with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2.0 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20250310-2-A100547-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
