DESCRIPTION

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Discuss theories of change management, such as Lewin’s Change Management Model, Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model, and the ADKAR model, and how these can be applied in a clinical setting to support effective change initiatives.
  • Describe the role of the healthcare leader in initiating and guiding change processes within healthcare settings, including the identification of areas for improvement and the development of strategic plans to address these areas.
  • List practical skills and strategies to facilitate change, including communication techniques, stakeholder engagement, and methods for building consensus.
  • Identify common barriers to change within healthcare environments, such as resistance from staff, limited resources, and regulatory constraints.
  • Describe strategies for analyzing barriers to develop effective solutions and sustaining outcomes of change over time.

Course is approved for 3.0 CE/Contact Hours to the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)

Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
