DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Recognize non-industrial medical conditions related to obesity (that impact claims).
- Explain various complications to work-related injuries for workers with obesity.
- Identify the potential specialized equipment, surgery, pharmacy, and rehabilitation needs that will increase the cost of claims.
- Identify alternative methods to reduce and/or prevent injuries for individuals with obesity.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- CA Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
Course Details
To receive 2.0 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
