This is an advanced course on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify basic brain anatomy and describe the functions of each region of the brain.
  • Differentiate between traumatic brain injuries and non-traumatic brain injuries.
  • Explain the classifications of brain injuries and describe the characteristics of mild, moderate, and severe brain injuries.
  • Define different types of brain injuries.
  • Discuss various treatment options for brain injuries.
  • Describe suggested methods for prevention of TBIs.

This course is approved for 5.0 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)

To receive 5.0 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
