DESCRIPTION
This course provides an overview of the provisions of the ANA Code of Ethics for nurses, including 2015 updates. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and role of the American Nurses Association (ANA).
- Explain the history of the development of the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Identify the nine provisions of the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Apply ethical standards to case studies effectively.
Approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Critical Care RN (CCRN): meets the criteria for CCRN Synergy Continuing Education Recognition Point(s) (CERPS) in Category B
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
This course is also approved for ethics credits for Nurses and CCM. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
