This course provides an overview of policies and procedures related to medication management for elderly residents living in a residential care environment. By the end of this course you will be able to: 1) define the differences between medication assistance and medication administration, 2) identify relevant laws and regulations pertaining to medication management for the elderly, 3) describe general principles and staff responsibilities related to resident self-administration of medication, 4) understand basic definitions, acronyms, and terminology related to medication management. Course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in California. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2023.
