DESCRIPTION
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology, biology and risk factors for melanoma skin cancers
- List symptoms and diagnostic methods for melanoma
- Recognize the classification of various types of melanoma and how these tumors are staged
- Discuss treatment options based on tumor stage
- Identify methods to decrease the risk of skin cancer using prevention strategies
- Identify claims implications related to skin cancers for the employer and claims professionals.
This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour to the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- California Workers’ Comp Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
Participants must pass the final quiz with 80% or more and may re-take the quiz as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
