DESCRIPTION
This course provides an advanced overview of Skin Infections in the Long Term Care Setting. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the unique factors that lead to the prevalence of skin infections in long term care facility clients
- Describe the normal anatomy of the skin
- Identify conditions that are common in long term care clients that predispose them to skin infections
- Identify signs and symptoms of the most common skin infections in long term care facility clients
- Explain the consequences of skin infections for long term care facility clients, healthcare workers, and the general population
- Identify resources and tools to help prevent the spread of skin infections in long term care facilities.
