DESCRIPTION

Course Objectives

This course includes a seminar consisting of four expert panelists affiliated with Grossman Burn Centers. By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify catastrophic burns and the difference between these and other burns.
  • Describe and analyze physical factors impacting burn healing by utilizing case studies.
  • Identify technical aspects of burn injuries, reconstructive procedures, and advanced technology used for post-burn healing and scar management.
  • List various psychological factors impacting recovery from acute burn injuries.

Continuing Education Credits

This course is approved for 2.25 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
    • Critical Care RN (CCRN): Meets the criteria for CCRN Synergy Continuing Education Recognition Point(s) (CERPS) in Category A
  • Certified Case Managers (CCM)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)

Course Details

To receive 2.25 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
