DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the three dimensions of pain and the difference between acute and chronic pain.
- Recognize the various pain measurement tools commonly used for a specific patient population.
- Describe the key elements of using pain assessment as an outcome measure.
- Explain factors that may contribute to pain and how clinicians may utilize the LEARN model to improve on pain assessment and intervention.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 2.5 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Critical Care RN (CCRN): meets the criteria for CCRN Synergy Continuing Education Recognition Point(s) (CERPS) in Category A
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- Social Workers (NASW)
Course Details
To receive 2.5 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
