DESCRIPTION
This course on death and dying explores end-of-life care, common dying trajectories, and compassionate strategies for supporting patients and families during the final stages of life.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify and differentiate between three major clinical trajectories at end of life: sudden death, terminal illness, and prolonged decline/frailty.
- Discuss common physical, emotional, and psychosocial patterns within each trajectory.
- Explain evidence-based, person-centered interventions to support patient, family, team, and self needs across the diverse pathways of dying.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in Florida.
Course Details
To receive 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
