- California law requires that assisted living facilities and residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFE) provide 40 hours of Initial Training to Caregivers and 20 hours of Annual Training thereafter.

Accreditation Agencies: Although training requirements are outlined by the California Department of Social Services and the California Department of Public Health, there is no accreditation agency that approves vendor programs/courses. Courses must meet content requirements and topic requirements.
