DESCRIPTION
This course provides an overview of wandering and safety for persons with dementia. By the end of this course learners will be able to:
- Define wandering as it relates to persons with dementia
- Explain why wandering occurs
- Describe risk factors associated with wandering
- Identify best practices for responding to a wandering incident
- Identify other safety risks for persons with dementia
- Identify safety measures that can be implemented to mitigate common safety risks.
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
Course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nursing Assistants in Florida.
