By the end of this course, Administrators will know how to:

  • Define mobility and why safe transportation is important for aging adults.
  • Recognize relevant laws and regulations in transportation and long-term care communities.
  • Identify essential transportation safety, accessibility, and reliability practices, and appropriate types of vehicles.
  • Apply appropriate outing assessment and safety skills in transferring individuals into vehicles.
  • Describe the unique transportation safety consideration for older adults with dementia or other cognitive impairments.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2.0 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval #20250310-2-A100547-DL. This course applies to the following professions:

  • Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
  • Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
