DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
This course fulfills the Florida Board of Nursing requirement for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours on the laws and rules that govern the practice of nursing in Florida. By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the legislative purpose of the Nurse Practice Act and at least two functions of the Florida State Board of Nursing.
- Identify licensure and continuing education requirements for Florida nurses.
- List at least three reasons that disciplinary action may be imposed against a Florida nurse.
- Identify the differences in nursing practice between advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants.
- Describe the parameters of delegation by Florida nurses.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
Course Details
To receive 2.0 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
