DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the difference between assisting with medications and administering medications.
- Identify the restrictions for managing medications in an RCFE.
- List at least three compliance requirements for managing medications in an RCFE.
- Discuss the training requirements for RCFE staff to qualify to assist residents with medication management.

Course Details
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
This course is approved for Laws and Regulations under the following Core of Knowledge: Laws, Regulations, Policies, and Procedural Standards Impacting RCFE.

In accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, continuing education credits for California RCFE Administrators cannot exceed a total of ten (10) hours per calendar day—whether earned through in-class or interactive online formats. Coursework completed beyond the 10-hour per day limit will not be applied toward renewal requirements nor accepted by California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Administrator Certification Section (ACS).
