DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Discuss the structure, types of neurons, and neural transmission in the human body.
- Describe the anatomy of the central nervous system.
- Describe the anatomy of the brain, including the cranial nerves.
- Discuss spinal cord anatomy and physiology, including reflexes and central nervous system pathways.
- Describe the anatomy and physiology of the peripheral nervous system, including the autonomic and somatic branches.
- Discuss the functional anatomy of the autonomic nervous system and its branches—the sympathetic, parasympathetic, and enteric nervous systems.
- Discuss sensory and motor input, feedback, and integration for purposeful movement within the somatic nervous system.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in California.

Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
