Course Objectives

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain how the body maintains acid–base balance through respiratory and renal regulation.
  • Interpret ABG values to identify common acid–base disorders.
  • Recognize clinical conditions associated with acid–base imbalances.
  • Apply acid–base principles to patient assessment and clinical decision-making.
  • Implement appropriate nursing interventions based on ABG findings.

This course is approved for 3.0 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
  • CA Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
