DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Articulate the major geriatric conditions that older residents might be experiencing and identify key strategies to contend with these conditions.
- Discuss the correlations between various geriatric conditions and the importance of developing effective interventions based on individual need.
- Identify nationally recognized screening tools to utilize in assessing for geriatric conditions.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for:
- California RCFE Administrators
- California Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (CA BRN)
Course Details
Learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
Per California Department of Social Services regulations, navigation within these courses is restricted. Each slide must be viewed in its entirety before advancing to the next slide. Learners must view each slide and click the next button to advance in the course.
In accordance with Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, continuing education credits for California RCFE Administrators cannot exceed a total of ten (10) hours per calendar day—whether earned through in-class or interactive online formats. Coursework completed beyond the 10-hour per day limit will not be applied toward renewal requirements nor accepted by California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Administrator Certification Section (ACS).
