DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify high risk occupations for hernia injury and workers’ compensation claims.
- Describe the anatomy and risks associated with the most common types of hernias.
- Describe selected diagnostic procedures and indications for their use.
- Describe each treatment modality and associated procedures, risks, and benefits.
- Discuss general post-operative care and indications for return to work.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 2.5 CE/Contact Hours for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- Social Workers (NASW)
- CA Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
Course Details
To receive 2.5 contact hours of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
