DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this course is to increase the awareness of healthcare professionals regarding medical errors.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the current societal and professional perspectives on medical errors
- Review the definition of medical error and the potential types of medical errors that can occur
- Discuss the consequences of medical errors on patients, professionals, and society
- Apply error-reduction techniques to current practice.

Medical Errors is a required continuing education topic for nurses in the state of Florida.
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20270327-2-A119417-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
