By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Define pain and distinguish the differences between acute and chronic pain.
• Recognize common signs and symptoms of pain in older adults.
• Discuss the various types of drugs used for chronic pain management and problems associated with pain medications in the older adults.
• Review guidelines and best practices for safe assistance of pain medications for older adults.

This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 1.25 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20260718-1.25-A113720-DL. This course applies to the following professions:

• Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
• Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)

Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
