Course Objectives

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Outline techniques to build rapport with patients.
  • Explain the importance of and elements within a present illness and health history interview.
  • Describe physical examination techniques including inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpation.
  • Discuss the need to address special considerations in physical assessment including cultural sensitivity, the impact of the aging process, and communication barriers.

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
  • Certified Case Managers (CCM)
