Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the epidemiology, biology, and risk factors for melanoma skin cancers.
- List symptoms and diagnostic methods for melanoma.
- Recognize the classification of various types of melanoma and how these tumors are staged.
- Discuss treatment options based on tumor stage.
- Identify methods to decrease the risk of skin cancer using prevention strategies.
- Identify claims implications related to skin cancers for the employer and claims professionals.
Continuing Education Credits
This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for the following professions:
- Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
- Certified Case Managers (CCM)
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
- California Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjusters (WC CA)
Course Details
To receive 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
