DESCRIPTION
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, Administrators will know how to:
- Define mobility and why safe transportation is important for aging adults.
- Recognize relevant laws and regulations in transportation and long-term care communities.
- Identify essential transportation safety, accessibility, and reliability practices, and appropriate types of vehicles.
- Apply appropriate outing assessment and safety skills in transferring individuals into vehicles.
- Describe the unique transportation safety consideration for older adults with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Continuing Education Credits
This program has been approved for Continuing Education for 2.0 total participant hours by NAB/NCERS—Approval # 20270310-2-A118966-DL. This course applies to the following professions:
- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
