By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Define workplace violence and identify the four major categories in healthcare.
  • Recognize behavioral, situational, and environmental warning signs of escalating violence.
  • Describe common triggers for patient‑to‑staff and peer‑to‑peer violence.
  • Apply verbal and non‑verbal de‑escalation strategies to promote safety.
  • Demonstrate awareness of emergency response protocols.
  • Identify internal reporting mechanisms and support resources.

Continuing Education Credits

This course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)

Course Details

To receive 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit, learners must pass the final quiz with 80% or more; the final quiz may be re-taken as often as needed.
