Description
This course provides an overview and instruction on how to assist persons with dementia with their activities of daily living, commonly referred to as ADLs. By the end of this course, learners will be able to: 1) define activities of daily living, also commonly referred to as ADLs, 2) list six categories or types of ADLs, 3) identify challenges that residents with dementia face that can hinder or prevent them from performing ADLs, 4) identify strategies to overcome challenges in assisting residents with ADLs, and 5) learn how to identify and incorporate resident preferences into daily care activities in order to improve outcomes. Course is approved for 1.5 CE/Contact Hours for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in Florida. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before March 31st, 2024.
