Description
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: Define implicit bias and the differences between implicit and explicit bias. Distinguish the difference between System 1 and System 2 thinking. Evaluate the origin of implicit bias, historically and within oneself. Analyze stereotypes and stigmas, and implicit biases in healthcare. Discuss some measurement tools in evaluating implicit biases in healthcare. This course is intended to contribute to caregiver and/or staff training in the categories of Cultural Competency, Psychosocial Needs of the Elderly, and Resident Rights. Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
