Description
By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Describe the basic understanding of what is diabetes and factors affecting management of diabetes in older adults, identify the main goals of diabetic medication management, describe the various methods of insulin administration, different types of insulin, and the rationale behind sliding scale prescription, identify at least two types of oral medication for management of diabetes, and recognize the limitations and restrictions in caring for persons with diabetes living in a licensed assisted living or other residential care facility. This course is intended to contribute to caregiver and/or staff training. Participants must pass the final quiz with 80% or more and may re-take the quiz as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2023.
