This course provides an advanced overview of child abuse and reporting requirements for healthcare professionals. Learners will will be able to:

  • Define types of child abuse.
  • Explain the physiological and psychological response to trauma.
  • Recognize physical and emotional signs of abuse.
  • Discuss the nursing implications and reporting requirement when caring for a child who is a victim of abuse.

Course is approved for 1.0 CE/Contact Hour for Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) in California. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed.
