By the end of this course, the learner will be able to: define implicit bias and the differences between implicit and explicit bias; distinguish the difference between System 1 and System 2 thinking; evaluate the origin of implicit bias, historically and within oneself; analyze stereotypes and stigmas, and implicit biases in healthcare; and discuss some measurement tools in evaluating implicit biases in healthcare.

This course is approved for 2.0 CE/Contact Hours to the following professions:

  • Nurses (RN, LVN, LPN) (all states)
  • Certified Case Managers (CCM)
  • Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC)
  • Social Workers (NASW)

Please note that state requirements for continuing education may vary. This implicit bias course meets continuing education requirements for nurses in the states of California, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, and Michigan. Please verify your specific state CE requirements to ensure compliance. Must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2027.
