Description
Upon completing this course, learners will be able to: describe the basic understanding of what diabetes is and factors affecting management of diabetes in older adults; identify the main goals of diabetic medication management; describe the various methods of insulin administration, different types of insulin, and the rationale behind sliding scale prescription; identify at least two types of oral medication for management of diabetes; and recognize the limitations and restrictions in caring for persons with diabetes living in a licensed assisted living or other residential care facility.

- Nursing Home Administrators (all states)
- Residential Care/Assisted Living Administrators (most states)
Learners must pass final quiz with 80% or more; may re-take as often as needed. Course will be updated or discontinued on or before July 31, 2023.
